First off, Blog for Iowa recognizes a death in the Progressive Family. Molly Ivins' life is eloquently summed up at Century of the Common Iowan.

As for births, Florida is finally waking up. They are moving to a paper trail, says this from the Sioux City Journal!

And three new blogs have been added to the Blog Roll:

Midwest Environmental Justice Advocates, and Leftist Logic, are new.

Trish and Ellen have started Iowa Rapid Response Blog, saying:

"We are mainly interested in posting valid & truthful political news articles that (a) are not in the mainstream and have no chance of being reported in the mainstream, (b) provide further understanding and/or a historical perspective relevant to U.S. foreign or domestic policies--corruption, globalisation, violations, occupations, chronic disgust...you get the idea."
