Media Reform:  Help IBLTV Stop Ownership Expansion - Sign the Petition Now

Iowans for Better Local TV

IBLTV is sponsoring a citizen's petition to advocate better local broadcast television. Please add your voice by signing our petition, to be sent to the Federal Communication Commission.

The purpose of our petition is to improve broadcast TV by asking the FCC to hear our complaints about the poor quality of local television, especially those run by Sinclair Broadcast Group, rather than merely "rubber stamping" and re-approving their license to broadcast on our airwaves.

We feel that, in return for the privilege of the free use of our airwaves for their private profit, local TV should truly provide public service to all of us.

In fact, FCC rules require it.

The Time to Act is Now!  (click here to sign)

Why? In Iowa, all FCC broadcast licenses expire at the end of this year. Because licenses last a long 8 years, stations are highly sensitive to citizen perception - they don't want to look bad in the eyes of the FCC. There is no better time for us to act than right now.

Please join us by signing our petition. It's easy and we assure you that your information (needed to validate your "signature") will be used ONLY for this petition.
