New Video Documents McCain's Relationship with Second Controversial Pastor
By Brave New Films Questions Surface Regarding Pastors Anti-Islamic Remarks Brave New Films and Mother Jones have released rarely before seen video footage documenting Sen. John McCain's relationship with a second controversial pastor. Although McCain's relationship with Rev. John Hagee has been widely reported, this new video, along with an article in Mother Jones, illustrate McCain's pastor problems go wider and deeper than previously reported. Rev. Rod Parsley, a televangelist who leads a megachurch in Columbus has called Islam "the greatest religious enemy of our civilization" and said that the historic mission of America is to see "this false religion destroyed." According to Mother Jones Washington Bureau Chief David Corn "Rev. Rod Parsley reiterates and amplifies harsh and derogatory comments about Islam he made in his book, Silent No More, published in 2005. Meanwhile, McCain has stuck to his stance of not criticizing Parsley, an important political ally in a crucial swing state." The full video is available here: and Corn's article is available here: Contact: Eddie Kurtz Communications Associate Brave New Films Cell: (336) 995-2177 ekurtz@bravenewfilms.org |
