By Lord Voldemort, RPI I got this from a friend of mine, some talking points stuff from the RPI. Does anyone even know what an "alternative currency," even is? _____ Dist RP Chairs: Please Pass this along to all your County RP Chairs. Each Co Chair should: Prepare a short list of approx 5-10 issues from the Ron Paul issues dropdown at the official RP site: www.ronpaul2008.com. Or, use the ones suggested below. Share this list with your county RP delegates going to the co conv with a plan for one in that group to a. Read the proposed plank (you write it in simple English: around 5 to 20 words), b. another second the proposal, c. a couple others speak for one minute each in support of it, and d. all vote for that issue during that part of the convention when the proposed platform is discussed. To create some unity on the issues within the District and across the State, I have listed (in order of importance) what I thank are Ron Paul signature issues for each of us to promote: Life begins at conception. Bring our troops home asap (this year). Stop spending more money than we have in the federal treasury. i.Cut spending and start getting out of debt. ii.Renegotiate entitlements to cut spending. iii.Get rid of whole departments like the Dept of Education. Stop the Federal Reserve from printing money out of thin air. i. Create an "asset-backed" alternative currency to the worthless Fed Reserve Notes ii. Cut spending in order to abolish the need for income taxes and the IRS. 5. Stop our foreign policy of intervention and nation building. i. Close down expensive military bases all around the world ii, Get the US out of the UN. It is a waste of time, money and sovereignty. iii. Revive our historic foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements. 6 Protect habeas corpus rights of US citizens. Rethink the Patriot Act to protect our civil rights. 7 Stop illegal immigration i. Stop all the welfare subsidies and entitlements to illegals ii. Stop the plan to give illegals Social Security Retirement. iii. Stop the plan to build the NAFTA Superhighway from Texas through Iowa to Canada. iv. Stop encroaching on personal private property ownership and rights. v. Spend our resources protecting our own borders rather than Iraq's. 8 Protect the sanctity of marriage through traditional marriage of one man and one woman. 9 Protect our rights to keep and bare arms. People kill people, not guns. Focus on the people problem. 10. Place term limits on US Congressmen and US Senators and stop professional politicians. Remember, some of these issues will appear in the "proposed" county platform at the beginning of this portion of the convention. If they are already there, speak out for them and vote for them. If they are there, but not quite right, propose "amendments" to those plank and get it changed before the vote. If the above are not on the proposed platform at all, then at the appropriate time and section of the existing platform, introduce your "new" platform as an additional plank in that section of the platform. Larger counties "require" your additions to the platform be in writing and handed to the secretary "before" the debate begins. Republican Senator Jim Inhofe is afraid of you
By Charles Chamberlain, DFA Last Thursday, DFA members nationwide took action and raised over $21,000 for Andrew Rice and his campaign to unseat Republican extremist, Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe. Now, Sen. Inhofe is running scared. His campaign knows Sen. Inhofe will never win on the issues or by defending his extremist record and ridiculous statements. So instead, they attacked you, the so-called "far-left". Here is an excerpt from their fundraising message on Friday: Just yesterday, a group founded by Howard Dean called Democracy for America (DFA) sent a fundraising email to liberal activists nationwide calling my friend, Senator Jim Inhofe, a "Republican Extremist." I hope that, like me, you laughed at this kind of over-the-top language, especially since it comes from a group that thinks America isn't even a democracy. What's not funny is this far-left group's fundraising potential. They've timed their message just three days before the end of a critical quarter. With the help of DFA and many other liberal groups fundraising on his behalf, Senator Inhofe's likely opponent hopes to impress his liberal counterparts in Washington, New York, and San Francisco so he can attract even more out-of-state dollars.
