Is Legalized Medical Marijuana Coming To Iowa?

email inboxA note from Senator Joe Bolkcom –

Dr. Steven Jenison is an Iowa native and a UI College of Medicine Distinguished Alumni, who helped create and lead the State of New Mexico’s medical cannabis program.

He thinks Iowa could also create a legal, well-regulated way to help suffering Iowans get the help they need.

Dr. Jenison will hold a public speaking event on Monday December 2, 6:00-7:30 pm at the Des Moines Public Library, downtown, 1000 Grand Avenue.

Two years after moving from Iowa to Colorado for mmj to treat chronic nausea and vomiting from Diabetic Neuropathic Gastroparesis (Paralyzed Stomach) my medical doctor took me off all Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol medications. My health is 100% better than it was 10 years ago. Due to 2 years of Safe & Legal Access to Medical Marijuana. If I had stayed in Iowa I would be much, much closer to death’s door. That I find unacceptable, how about you?

My wife and i have just received our 4th medical card.. stomach paralysis from diabetes related damage, made my wife unable to hold food down. Aftrr a couple of years of this, she was so weak l had to see if mmj would help. A hash cap a day,she never smokes, has prolonged her life snd can walk and stand some. She rarely has digestive problems. We miss our 7 grandchildren and family behind so she could live.. THAT’S SAD IOWA ISNT MORE UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSIONATE. 49 yrs an IOWAN

  • March 2014, it will be ten years since I was first diagnosed with MS,at age 37….here I am, almost 47, after giving up the fight as a public activist in Iowa…..time was no longer on my side after 7+ years of lobbying I came to Colorado….my job pays much better, I walk a mile each way to/from work from the bus. No longer am I a medical outlaw of Iowa…just an Iowan in Exodus…my life has improved health wise… more sleepless nights waiting for a knock on the door w/search warrant..
