Thanks for putting this up. Our media seldom reports chicanery like this. Thus Democrats and President Obama end up getting the blame.
There is also a section of the ACA which may cause individuals to pay high rates that snuck through. Boehner knows about it but refuses to bring any correction to the floor.

“It was a poison pill in the resolution to keep the government running. If he had vetoed, it would have shut down the government, ended WIC plus a dozen other important programs for those that needed it most.
    Addictinginfo has this:

“Plus, this rule is just the codification of a court ruling, enabling the regulators to have a say in the process. Without it, there would be no process, and companies which do happen to produce a dangerous crop would have a free hand in planting. In other words, now there is a protection put in place, while before there was not. The bill as signed did not provide immunity to Monsanto or any other company, it only brought US Code into compliance with the Supreme Courts ruling, while also speeding up the litigation process over unregulated food crops. Conservative groups like The Heritage Foundation fueled the attack and let left-wing pundits go into the fight to attack the bill meant to prevent the government from shutting down. “

A commenter correctly points out that there was a Democrat involved, Barbara Mikulski, the Senate Chairwoman of the Appropriations committee who wouldn’t allow the amendments onto the floor for a vote. So the budget bill, with the Riders intact, was passed by both houses of Congress, which it probably would have been anyway, and the President signed it. We should start doling out political blame the way it is done in civil court over a traffic accident… 80% goes to the guy who ran the red light, 20% goes to the person who was driving 5 miles over the limit.
