How To Start An Occupation

This Thursday night at 7 pm Central we’ll be speaking with activists who’ve been on the ground for more than a month participating in decision making and actions at #OccupyWallStreet, #OccupyMilwaukee, #OccupyMadison, #OccupyAtlanta and #OccupyOakland.

I’d really like you to be a part of it and hear what they have to say.

That’s why this Thursday, we’re bringing back DFA Live for a special free online training so you can hear what’s happening right now and learn how to organize an #occupy action near you — directly from the activists who’ve been in the thick of it since the beginning.

Sign up to attend the call this Thursday right now.

The conference call is free and will start promptly at 8pm CST. Once you’ve signed up, our phone system will call you just a few minutes before start time. So make sure you give us the number you’ll want to use to participate and then don’t forget to take our call this Thursday.

Sign me up.

Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of people have joined the Occupy Wall Street movement. DFA members have been deeply involved in sustaining local occupations, but we sure aren’t the only ones. Many of us have a lot to learn about how we can get involved.

Find out what’s really happening on the ground — directly from activists occupying everywhere from New York to Oakland, from Atlanta to Madison. And if there isn’t an occupation in your area, this call will help you learn how to plan your own action. Activists who have occupied public space for more than a month will show you know how to do it yourself!

I hope you can join us on the call.

In solidarity,

Ruby Reid, Online Training Organizer
