Iowa GOP Sticks With Anti-Pelosi Strategy

Iowa GOP Sticks With Anti-Pelosi Strategy

The GOP sticks with their story that maligning Nancy Pelosi is the winning strategy that will return their party to power.

Bleeding Heartland had this Saturday:

If $2,500 is burning a hole in your wallet, you can meet House Speaker
Nancy Pelosi today (Saturday) at the fundraising luncheon for the
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at Roxanne Conlin's house
in Des Moines. Representatives Bruce Braley, Dave Loebsack and Leonard
Boswell
are co-hosting the event….

Republican Party of Iowa Executive Director Jeff Boeyink said he's surprised any Iowa congressional Democrats would want to appear with her. [...].  “We don't think her values are Iowa values,” Boeyink said.

Indeed…why would any Iowa Democrat want to appear with the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives?  Go figure…

And, we're not sure how we got on the call list for the National Republican Congressional Committee, but we're happy they are sharing their thoughts and ideas with us…. we also hear from Steve King fairly frequently.  Here's what we had on our answering machine Friday night at home – the GOP version of grassroots organizing.

“This is a call to action from the National  Republican Congressional Committee.  Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is coming to Des Moines to push her liberal agenda. [Go, Nancy!]  Pelosi plans to headline a fundraiser tomorrow with Congressman Loebsack to push her national energy tax which experts say will raise energy costs and devastate Iowa communities and farms.  Congressman Loebsack votes with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time [Go, Dave!].  Call Congressman Loebsack at…. [sorry, you'll have to look up the number yourself] …and tell him San Francisco values don't put people to work in Iowa.  Paid for by the National Republican Congressional Committee and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.  We can be reached at 202-479-7000.”

Health Care Kickoffs Today: Organizing for America in Iowa

Health Care Kickoffs Today: Organizing for America in Iowa

Organizing for America

It's up to us as citizens to make sure we have real health care reform.  Here's what you can do today.

Organizing for America-Iowa is holding kickoffs all over Iowa this weekend.

At these kickoffs, you’ll watch a special message from the President, meet like-minded supporters in your neighborhood, make plans for reaching out in your community-and start to put those plans in action.

Together, we’ll win health care reform the same way we won the election: Building support one block, one neighbor, one conversation at a time.
