PCCI Promises to Continue Working

PCCI Promises to Continue Working

By PCCI

Their Website address is www.iowaprogressives.org

We have just come through a momentous 2006 midterm election, a vital and crucial event in the American political process. That process does not end with elections but realizes its ultimate purpose through ongoing community involvement in policy setting following elections.

To this end and with a view to promoting just and humane government policies, the Progressive Coalition of Central Iowa Board is laying out a very intentional plan of action to bring progressive values to bear upon the decision-making of our government.

At this time the Coalition is undertaking to compile a list of issues and positions with which to approach our legislators and government officials on an ongoing basis. We will be monitoring bills that are introduced in the legislatures and decisions that are made by our elected officials. Throughout this process we will remain in close communication with legislators and government leaders. By the same token. if you are planning a visit to a legislator's office or preparing a petition delivery or organizing a community educational event, we invite you to enlist the wider support and assistance of the coalition whenever you would deem that to be beneficial to the cause.

The enterprise of working for positive change will be most effective if we work together as coalition members and associates. As a first step we are asking you to apprise us as soon as possible of particular issues that you and your organization are focused on or wish to have addressed.

We would also like to know what position or solutions, if any, you are advocating on any specific issue you are concerned with.

Please email to joycevernhn@juno.com or mail to my street address:

I thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors of PCCI for your valued partnership and look forward to our working together. Great opportunity lies before of us to build a better society and country – together.

Sincerely
Vern Naffier, Chairman,
Progressive Coalition of Central Iowa, Inc.
